Extreme Security Doors

Extreme Security Door Systems

Blast / Pressure / Missile Resistant

Protective Door Industries (PDI’s) very high range steel doors are custom engineered to resist dangerous attacks with intense blast conditions and missile penetrations or extreme pressure resistance that require high dynamic factors and rebound loading design.  These are NOT ‘Build What You See’ doors.  PDI has worked with clients to engineer assemblies using PDI’s computer-generated programs that afford maximum protection to withstand forces up to 100 PSI and higher.

Construction is solid steel plate or composite structural steel and plate combination with concrete fill depending upon design load and size.  Careful attention to the design of the hinging, latching and operating hardware assure ease of operation, minimum maintenance and maximum security.  The units are fabricated per procedures outlined in the American Welding Society AWS Structural Welding Code for Steel and designs comply with AISC specifications and UFC 3-340-02 ‘Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions’ (previously Dept. of the Army Technical Manual TM5-1300).

Refer to the page on our web-site Establishing Blast Criteria for design assistance.  Or, go direct to the Blast Resistant Selector Chart for technical specifications on our DB-X High Range Security doors.  Consult the factory at sales@protectivedoor.com (or call) to discuss other severe security threats, gastight conditions or even a custom door panel with a wedged door edge as shown in the photo at right.  The thicker and heavier door assemblies are normally power operated by either pneumatic, hydraulic or electro-drive to move these massive doors at the touch of a button.
